Nursery Window

Sorry if you are getting tired of nursery updates... but I can't help it.  It is by far my favorite room in the house.  Mostly because of who will be living there in a few weeks, but also because I decided I was going to not follow any design rules or common nursery themes.  I am just going for what Nate and I like and what is baby friendly!

So, onto the window.  The wall with the window on it needed some help.  First of all, the window was not exactly centered, which really annoyed me.  Second - I wanted to add some fun color.

I had purchased a tablecloth at HomeGoods about a year ago - I had no use for it, but just loved it.  It sat in my craft room until now.

Nate built a box, then with some batting, the tablecloth, and a staple gun, I was able to build my valance:

Nate hung the mounting board on the wall... and the valance was ready to go up.

If you look closely in the picture above, you can see the the curtains are covering up the un-centered window.  By hanging the curtains wider than the window on the right side, and even with the window on the left, it suddenly looks like the window is in the middle of the room.

So much better.

Now, there is still blank spaces above each crib... and I have plans for those, but they will have to wait.

The nursery is getting closer to being done!!
