Annie's Dining Chairs

Annie had a bigger project in mind: her dining room. They were using folding chairs in their dining room, and while functional, they were not what she wanted. So her mission, to get 4 chairs with a padded seat, for her to paint and re-upholster. She found one chair at the 100 mile garage sale for $6. Then last weekend she scored 3 more chairs in the Bloomington Garbage Pickup (for free)! Here are some of the before pictures:

Afters:

(Please note the socks with flip flops Annie is wearing- we don't know why she feels the need to do this, she also did it at the 100 mile garage sale, but we love her anyways!)

Annie chose to paint her chairs. Since most of them were stained before, we really had to sand them down good. The chairs took about 2 coats of paint. Annie had an awesome geometric pattern that was totally her (in fact at Crafty Planet she pulled about 17 fabrics all with this same pattern).

Now Annie has 4 awesome dining chairs, that all look so good together. Even though they are all different shapes and heights, the same paint and pattern really pull the look together. I meant to take a picture of all the chairs in the dining room so that you can get the full effect - that will have to come later! (I will also have to show mine and Ali's in the rooms).

Hope that you enjoyed the major DIY Before and Afters - we now are addicted and will for sure have more to come :)

  1. Yea! I'm so excited to have a post dedicated to my project. I couldn't have done it without you and Ali, especially with your sanding expertise. I think I am addicted! What can we update next?
