2 of 3 Done

So there are 3 'tests' for Henry and Zoey to pass before they can go home from the NICU:

1. They have to be able to breath on their own.  This usually happens at week 32, so luckily we did no have to worry about that.

2. They have to be able to regulate their body temperature without any help.  Today, 6 days after being born, they graduated from their incubators into cribs.

Henry- cute as can be wrapped up like a burrito in his crib.

Zoey was actually out of her crib when I got in this morning - a nice surprise from my baby girl!  It took Henry a few more hours, but didn't want to let his sister show him up.

3.  Lastly, they have to be able to eat on their own and maintain their body weight.  This will be the harder one.  They are currently getting fed mainly through the tube in their nose, but are starting to breast feed very well.  I am trying to be very patient at this last stage.... because we can't push them, but man... I just want my little nuggets to come home.

  1. Both look so cute in their wraps. The 'nuggets' will be home before you know it.

  2. Ohhhhh...the little burritos! They are precious! Good luck with feedings and my fingers are crossed that they come home soon. B&N came home from the NICU on a schedule...which was nice, if you're looking for the silver lining. :)
