My New (old) Chair

Way back in April, I pick up this chair at the Bloomington Garbage days:

This chair literally look horrible. There was dried candle wax (at least that is what I am pretending it was), Chipped wood edges, a broken leg, and it kind of smelled.

All-in-all it was disgusting, and the perfect chair for me to makeover:) I had sanded and spray painted the chair black a few weeks ago - and it has been sitting in the garage ever since. So last night I grabbed Nate to head to the craft store. Yes, I did make Nate go into the store with me - and it is a good thing that I did - because he actually helped pick out the perfect fabric. And below is the wonderful, colorful new chair that is sitting in our guest room.

I am really excited about the chair. It turned out great. One thing that I did on this chair, which I had not done on my other upholstering projects, is to iron the material first. It went on much smoother, and I didn't feel like I had to pull the fabric as hard. Just finished it up earlier tonight.

I do have to say - I am slowly running out of places to put my upholstery work, so if you want any help furnishing you place let me know - I am more than willing to help out!

Hope that you like it!
