Summer 2014 Volume 1

While I feel like it has just started, there is only a month of summer left.  We have tried to take full advantage of it this year!

One of the best parts about this summer is our new backyard space.  New cement and more grass space than before.. makes for more room to play.  Henry is mildly obsessed with all sports.. and the kid actually has some skill... golf, soccer, baseball - you name it, he wants to play it.

The best part about this summer is how self sufficient the kids are... they play so much better together, and they can use all their toys by themselves... This makes it so much easier to be grilling or just sitting watching them play.

Our water table sees plenty of action... even the cousins get in on the fun.  Could Brynn be any cuter? :)

Mixing it it...

The splash pad is still a big hit... but this year, Henry mostly likes to run around and avoid the water... until we are just about to leave, and then he gets soaked.

Zoey on the other hand, is usually soaked from the minute we get there.

Oh you know. just riding my 4 wheeler with my heals on... its totally normal.

We even got the hammock out, which we haven't had out the past 2 summers.  So relaxing.  Although a little stinker usually claims it as her own...

We have hit up the farmers market a few times too.  Nothing like a warm Saturday morning to get some fresh lemonade, great harvest rolls, and to listen to some music. Oh, and there are vegetables there too.

We will be losing our two front trees this year, so we planted a new one.  It is just Zoey's size...

The petting zoo at the cabin was a big hit - not as big of a hit was riding the ponies.

We kept the kids up this year for the fireworks. And by kept up, I mean we had put them to sleep an hour and a half before this, and they were still awake.

Last week Kelly and Lincoln came to visit from Norfolk.  It was so much fun to see them.  And so hard to get all of us looking at the camera at the same time.  I have the death grip on Henry to keep him from riding his bike away.

Our raspberry bushes are finally starting to produce some respberries.  And by some I mean 3.  I dont know what is up - but we want more!

We still have plenty of fun ready to be packed into the rest of summer.... this has been a great one so far!
